ต่อมาได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น อ่างเก็บน้ำสายศร เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่หัวหน้าอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาใหญ่คนแรก คือ นายบุญเรือง สายศร อ่างเก็บน้ำสายศร เป็นจุดชมวิวถ่ายรูป อาจเจอสัตว์ป่าหลายชนิดลงมาหากินใกล้อ่างเก็บน้ำ
อ่างเก็บน้ำสายศร กว้าง 200-300 ม. ลึกกว่า 2 ม. เป็นแหล่งน้ำใช้สำหรับบ้านพักนักท่องเที่ยวและเจ้าหน้าที่อุทยานฯ เดิมชื่อ อ่างเก็บน้ำมอสิงโต ตามชื่อเขามอสิงโตที่อยู่ในบริเวณนั้น
ขึ้นมาเขาใหญ่ต้องมาให้ได้ บรรยากาศดี เหมาะมานั่งพักผ่อน
อากาศ และเสียงชะนีโดยเฉพาะวันนี้จะมีเสียงจั๊กจั่น
