Halyburton Park is a refuge for those hoping to get away from the hustle and bustle of Wilmington. This 58-acre tract of land is 70% undeveloped, with a handicap-accessible 1.3-mile trail circling the perimeter and natural hiking trails that delve into the heart of the park’s natural areas.

Make sure to check the event center for turtles , snakes and civil war artifacts ! You can also buy cute stuffed animals and t-shirts. Really nice place for a jog or to take your kids!
The paved paths are nice, but you get to see more of the wildlife if you cut through the woods on one of the designated hiking trails .
