Buy a book at the best bookstore in Chicago next door. Then a coffee of distinction from here. Step out on the quads. Life. Does not get better.
Such a cute little French café ! I had the Mushroom & Kale Pie with a 12oz. Mocha . Everything was delicious!!! I ate here before walking to the Oriental Museum on the university campus.
Had a great breakfast here - I like their food, coffee , and service. It gets so crowded from 10:45 to 12:30. The outdoor seating is better - you set and chat conveniently.
Perfectly decent coffee and pastries . I <3 me an almond croissant . Gets ultra crowded around lunch time forcing patrons to snag a seat in the adjacent book shop. Busy beaver button machine is a must!
Enjoy some great coffee and a snack in the serene and beautiful outdoor area that is next door to Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House!
Such a cute coffee shop . Hidden gem in hyde park . Cute interior, good coffee and pastries ! Nice place to get some work done :)
We like the Plein Continental Breakfast : cured ham , a biscuit or croissant , jam , butter, and a hard-boiled egg .
Jealous of this gorgeous campus cafe that not only has great coffee and teas but edible breakfast and lunch food at a reasonable prices
Delicious pastries and hot chocolate . (Bring a sweater in the summer, the AC is a bit chilly.) The chai is far too weak, though, and their drip coffee is very acidic.
Hyde Park : Its light seasonal fare and patio makes you feel like you’ve just been transported to a secret European garden . Read more
Very good coffee & tea , delish pastries & savories. Perfect place after the Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House tour .
Gets very busy on weekends. I've enjoyed everything I've had here, but it's expensive .
the kale/mushroom royale pie is delish! well designed place with wifi inside and out.
One tips say "no printed menu" WRONG, multiple menus available on the wall next to the cold beverage case
Very busy, not many power outlets . Beautiful sunshine and great music . Lemon pound cake with blackberry jam is amazing!
Get all the food! And they make great cortados .
Love the roasted root veggie tartine
Home made chai is unique and delicious
The breakfast croissant sandwich is really good.
Adorable cafe on the U of C campus. Nice ambience and varied menu!
Get the mocha ! Very good but a little pricey . Great study space though!
Root vegetable open-face sandwich is best vegetarian lunch around campus.
Cold brews and pourovers right off campus = godsend
I don't know what a plein air is, but I do like the large outdoor seating area .
Pour over coffee is worth the steep price.
Good coffee bar and sandwiches
$8 for a medium chai and an almond croissant ? This is not New York. Also, the Med has better croissants .
SO CUTE ! LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Great addition to Hyde Park !
Love the sandwiches and salads here

This place claims to have food but good luck-there's no printed menus for anything beyond coffee anywhere.
Hablan español y el servicio es muy amable. El capuccino está muy conseguido.
Best coffee on campus & the cheapest to boot. Quick service when in between classes or on-the-run. Large, vetted selection. Authentic setting. - Adam S
Not cheap but better than the previous Einstein Bagels. Moroccan Lentil soup is great. - Gregory Palmer
The drip coffee is from Counter Culture. One of the better options on campus right now. Also, cheap if you bring your own mug. - Kate B
I always find things I didn't know I was looking for. Oh and the Marxism section is amazing. - Chris Natoli
The tour is a bit pricey but worth it to see the inside architectural features. I thought our tour guide was great. - Tom Fosgard
Small museum with beautiful collections. It's great for having a relaxing time, totally worth checking it out. - Ruth Madrigal
