Beautiful atmosphere and stage. Perfect for lesser known musicians and for smaller tours . Cheap/decently priced tickets, large enough space for a big audience despite being a smaller venue than most.
The venue's floor is sloped, so if you tend to be the shorter stock in the crowd, position yourself by the balcony pillars in the back. You get an unparalleled view , second only to the balcony . ;o)
Love this venue! Perfect size and draws a wide variety of talent. Tip: drink next door bc this place is crazy expensive , grab cash before you get there, and go for barstool overlooking the stage!
Had a great time seeing Lights and The Mowgli's here last year. Nice cozy little venue with a great stage set up.
Create everlasting memories! One of the best venues to attend. Cozy and right in the heart of South Street, the TLA is a great spot for a great night out in Philadelphia. Check out the lineup!
Great to see a show. Drinks are very expensive . Stop @ the boiler room next store and gave a few drinks and a bite to eat before the show. Then hit up Jims steaks after.
I saw Kimbra here and had a fantastic time! I stood in the upper level, but you can be just about anywhere and see the bands clearly! Awesome setup!
Big enough to not feel crowded for a sizable crowd, and still intimate enough to feel connected to the performer
$4 water bottles. Aside from the outrageous water price I love this place! I can always get up close and personal with my favorite bands
the drinks were crazy expensive , but wherever you are positioned in the venue there is about a 95% chance that you can see the band pretty close up! I feel like it is totally worth a trip.
Pretty near venue! Bar is a little slow and drinks are pretty expensive but the balcony was an awesome place to watch a concert .
Great, intimate venue for shows. The sound clarity is pretty good as well .
For great drinks accompanied by delicious bar food, hit up the Royal Tavern. There are awesome vegan/vegetarian options for all the healthy folks as well ! – Team Live Nation
Awesome venue! Just get up front if you're short like me or upgrade to VIP.
hey shorty ( in the height sense of course ). grab a spot in front of the sound guy for the best view . have an epic night.yYou're up.
An awesome place for a concert . Not to big and with excellent sound quality.
Giant old chandeliers droop from the ceiling of this grungy venue. Originally a movie house, the floors are sloped, so if you want a good view of the band, see ‘em here.

Drink at the bar next to the venue. They had bottles of Miller High Life tonight for $1. Inside the venue they were selling 16oz cans of High Life for $5.
going to the roots picnic ? follow us on twitter @vitaminwater #rootspicnic and stay tuned for access to tips + updates then check in on foursquare "the roots picnic hydrated by vitaminwater"
A very good place to go and listen to some really good bands!
Awesome space. Serves alcohol , great views of the stage
If you want slightly cheaper beer , arrange to have a case airlifted from Germany and helicoptered from the airport from there.
ride the XXXpress to the roots picnic in philly and save the the cab fare for the “I was there” tee. rsvp here http://on.fb.me/KvjgvE
If a band you like is playing here, get a ticket. Sound is great and the venue is just the right size. Drinks are overpriced but the staff is great and don't skimp on mixed drinks .
I've seen a lot of dope shows here for affordable prices !
The best 1000 seater in the tristate
Don't be late this place can get packed. Very mixed quality staff
Live music here sounds really good, I actually like this place better than the Troc or Electric factory
Coat check only holds the first 150 coats. If the show is sold out, dont expect to come 2 hours late and be able to check your coat.
Always a great time spent here!
Got banned from upstairs by a douchey bouncer who threatened to cut our bracelets and eventually wrote X on our hands with a marker so we couldn't go back up. Show was better up close anyway.
Music music music !
You can't bring in your own water- also, get a cheesesteak from steaks on south!!
The slant in the floor makes seeing the band easy even in the back. Not being able to go out to smoke, expensive beers and horrible parking on south st stink, though!
Great place to see a concert ! Try the food, one word. AMAZING
Tyrone Wells !
Don't buy the fast pass (especially on a weekday show). It's just a scam so the tla can take another ten dollars from you
Math The Band: Kinda like Matt and Kim and Andrew W.K. and Powerglove. Pretty goddamn fun.
This venue is horrible and should be closed! My friend got beat up and got his nose broken by some thugs while security did not even bother to show up!!! Please, for your own safety, don't come here!
There's a service charge on tickets even if you're paying with cash
There's a bar RIGHT next to the venue. Take advantage of it.
If you're in the bar and not drinking leave so others can
usually no re-entry! over-priced drinks, but nice/fun place.
If you can get here do it now! Donald Glover/Childish Gambino about to blow up!
Drink a lot, have fun, and safety first.
Great place to score some party party party dome
An awesome place to see a show. Pre-game elsewhere, though as 16 oz. of Yuengling poured from a dirty tap is not worth $11.
Coat Check now avaliable for $3!
Only place to smoke is the bathrooms in the front lobby....BE CAREFUL
Great venue to enjoy live music, craft beers and tasty food! Love this place! - John Gaus
Friendly beer, good beer selections, really awesome acoustics for concerts - Ryan Smith
Great intimate venue for concerts and shows! Can only have alcoholic drinks upstairs tho. Get there early if you want a seat. - Liz Rattray
Very good Philly Cheese Steak! We tried with Whiz! A must in Philly - Anna Barri
Slices now seem a bit bigger which is great and pizza absolutely amazingly delicious! They also now have toppings on Tuesdays which is awesome. - Brittany Becker
Beer, tots with whiz, and arts and crafts. Need I say more? Seem to have a lot of fun events and specials nights, too! - Erin Greenawald
