Portillos is a Chicago original. Best Italian beef and sausage you can find, regardless of location. Good solid service,good quality food. Great for when you want fast food , but restaurant quality.
We love it. Eat here far more than is good for our wallets lol. Chopped salad , burgers , Italian beef , cheese fries , and of course hotdogs , this is totally a Chicago classic.
Chocolate cake shakes are the best. If you like Italian beef , try the beef and cheddar croissant .

This place has the best cheese fries ever!! Plus they are almost always hot and fresh. I live out of state now and have to stop in several times each visit.

Clearly the best thing to eat is: beef with mozz (if you like peppers , get them! The hot OIL is free.) and a large cheese fry. Large drink is only 20 cents more too.
Athlete in training ? Get the char-broiled chicken sandwich (no mayo ) or stop by Barnelli's to get the Angel Hair Pasta w/ marinara add Chicken . Water instead of soda !

Don't snack before you get here (like i did). Make sure you have plenty of room in your belly when you walk in the door!
Fries were great but my chilli dog bun was super soggy.

If you get a beef make sure to ask for it "dipped " to get the most juice :)
Beef and cheddar croissant is the best thing on the menu!
I bring the Garbage Salad home & put Thousand Island dressing on it. I don't like the dressing they give.
