Don't cross that white solid line while under the tunnel for ANY reason! There are cameras all along the entire tunnel which will take a picture of your license plate and nail you with a huge ticket!!

Don't play the "hold-your-breath-until-the-end-of-the-tunnel" game or you're bound to suffocate and pass out. This tunnel is a non-stop traffic nightmare and a real bonafide shitshow. EVERY. TIME.

Avoid this tunnel at all costs, take the George Washington Bridge . The GWB is further north but when car breaks down in the two lane tunnel it doesn't get towed out causing a traffic jam for hours!

As you're driving through, imagine what it would be like if the tunnel burst and the Hudson River came roaring in.

This little street has a few carriage houses directly over the tunnel entrance (the street itself is elevated as a sort-of "bridge ") & London-style streetposts. Suss the history, O Detective!

The right side of the tolls is usually less congested than the left. Everyone getting off of 139 usually stays to the left.

Save some $$ sign u p for car pool... when you have 3+ in the car... go to cash lane. .. say car pool!!!!

You'll be able to get through war and peace on tape before you even make it thru the tunnel - there's always so much damn traffic !

EZPass tunnel rates are cheaper than cash.

Just think - instead of being stuck in traffic , you could be enjoying the sun and the surf at Luna Park on Coney Island .

From NJ, shoot for lanes 1 or 4, the left lane moves faster and merging is faster from the outer toll gates. From NY... Good luck.

If you're stuck in the Lincoln Tunnel and have to use the bathroom , don't get out and pee in the tunnel ....they have cameras lol:-)

Would be better if you actually ended up in Holland rather then New Jersey.

This "merge of death" isn't for the faint of heart... often the exterior toll lanes are the fastest.

If you are checking in here, it means it's real slow to get in!

do not travel via holland tunnel on Sunday night! After 5pm, it is jammed even after midnight! Use a different route if you can.

Go through the tunnel late at night when they clean it and see the upside down street sweeper contraption. Cool!

Stay to the outside lanes if you pay with cash, inside with EZ-Pass.

45 min delays at the Holland, but still moves faster & more comfortable than the Lincoln.

The whole purpose is to make it out of the tunnel , move people moooooove!

Thank gosh that I have the tunnel and I don't have to swim . My breaststroke ain't so hot.

I suggest remaining in the tunnel whilst under the Hudson.
