Offbeat L.A. tip: This restaurant was opened in 1963 by Rudy del Campo. He had a successful dancing career in Vegas & on Broadway. He also played one of the Sharks in the film West Side Story.

The best chips and salsa I've had in LA. Great menu, something for everybody. Margarita specials during happy hour !!!

I come for the enchiladas all the time. The chips and salsa are addictive. Try not to fill up on them. The live shows in the basement are worth the trip as well .

Neighborhood Mexican food with an LGBTQ friendly atmosphere . I liked that they would substitute the beans for veggies . Yum.

After 10, when the dinner crowd thins out, this place transforms into a gay "bear bar ", didn't see that one coming.

The food is extremely over priced but it tastes ok. Margs are strong. Awesome ambience. Great theatre below (Cavern Club) with fun campy shows.

Their weekend brunch is great, esp because half the restaurant is dark, for those with unfortunate hangovers or sensitivity to light.

Sit at the bar...Omar makes the best drinks and you can eat there too.

Go for the margaritas in their old bar .

A wine list you MUST try :) especially the Pinot Noir and Chianti .
