Try a Friday or Wednesday night board game night. Open community. Very welcoming. Just being your board games and an open willingness to play.
Not nearly as friendly as flipside but they have a better selection of stuff other than just magic and pokemon. More expensive than other local stores but they frequently have what the others don't.
