6-7hrs total. Bring snacks (don't forget Fido) & extra water. Wear layers, as it gets very windy at the top. There are some serious inclines close to the top and many jagged rocks to climb.
Not a difficult trail (not a lot of bouldering, etc) but with the elevation gain, it's strenuous - trekking poles helped a lot! Well maintained trail , but lots of walking over rocks - wear good boots !
Amazing 360 degree view of Lake Tahoe and Desolation Wilderness. And just a 4.5 mile hike to get here.
You feel like you are on top of the world! 9735 feet....
