An amazingly beautiful place rich with history. The guided tours are wonderful and everything is also very well identified for anyone to walk around without a guide.
Genuinely historic site , of a great thinker's very personal home. They have special tours that include the upper floor, but you have to book those well in advance. Guides are great.
Beautiful area. Nearly 100* the day we were there and tents were set up to help keep the sun off of us while they allowed small groups of people to go through the house in keeping with COVID mandates.
Patricia Abbitt was our tour guide and she is animated and lively and knowledgeable , giving information to visitors in an interesting and entertaining manner. We LOVED her! Take the tour
I questioned weather the price for the behind the scenes would be worth it........IT Was!!! I'm so glad we did it. Small group tours that all through the house. Don't hesitate, book it!
Always a beautiful historic site . Get your tickets early for tours or try to reserve online ahead of time. You can walk around the outside without a tour but can't go inside. Lots to see.

Monticello makes us think about the contradiction of a slave holder proclaiming that "all *men* are created equal." It provokes thought about social, political, & architectural ideas, & times gone by.
Don't miss the two outdoor tours : the slavery tour of Mullberry row and the garden tour !
Everything! Don't forget to walk Mulberry Row. The house tour was informative!

Let T.J. hook you up with one of his "ladies," and a big roll of hemp . That dude knows how to party, since he smokes about four feet of rope a day.
