It looks like a shack but it's got the soul that results from 150 years of Austin history. There are also always loads of great metal bands playing here at SXSW.

The Scoot has been in business off and on for over 140 years, making it one of the oldest beer-slinging honky-tonks in Texas. We adore this dive bar , but the bathrooms are strictly to be avoided.

If you enjoy a great dive, you're in the right place. Order a local beer , listen to live music from the outdoor stage under the huge oak trees or watch the quirky movie but you must play SKEE BALL !

Built in 1871, this is an east Austin original. Venture off the beaten path to experience a bit more of what Austin has to offer. It may not look like much on the outside, but it’s a Texan gem.

Great staff - the bartenders are friendly and get to know you. Also home to Brewskee-Ball, a national competitive skee-ball league.

The kitchen serves up burgers to help you get through the night, especially if you've spent ample time at the outdoor tree/shot bar .

Not only can you listen to great live bands , they also have several great beers on tap ! Great place to kick back and relax.

I only go here to watch my friends play in their Skeeball league . It is a sight to see, with never a dull moment.

This place isn’t much of a looker, but the atmosphere is great. Grab a drink and head outside for a good show.

You can sometimes find a slip-and-slide out back. Great of a summer night.
