2002년 5월 서울특별시 종로구 신문로 2가 경희궁지 내에 개관한 시립박물관이다. 1993년 12월 15일 서울특별시립박물관이란 이름으로 착공하여 1997년 12월 31일 준공하였다. 2001년 9월 29일 서울역사박물관으로 명칭을 변경하였으며, 2002년 5월 21일 개관하였다. 부지 7434㎡, 연면적 2만 130㎡ 3층 규모로 전시실과 시청각실·강당·휴게실·뮤지엄숍·물품보관소·카페테리아 등의 시설을 갖추고 있다.

Not archeological which I hoped. Their research and exhibition is limited to the times from 1300s when Seoul was designated as a new capital of Joseon dynasty .

가끔 좋은 전시 무료 관람 가능. 조용하고 편안한 테라스도 좋음. 건물뒤 주차장 뒤편에 올라가면 경희궁과 계단을 올라가면 작은 공터같은 공원이 나옴. 도심속의 휴식을 느낄 수 있음.
3층에 거대한 서울 모형이 있어요. 은근 디테일해 우리동네 찾는 재미가 있음!

살아있는 박물관 , 그 자체!
잘 만든 건 같은데, 부족하다. 결과를 위해 뭔가 조상했다는 느낌? 심오한 컨셉의 부재 속에 보존한 소규모 장소. 뿌듯함은 못느꼈다.
가족과 함께 편안히 거닐며 재밌게 볼 수 있는 곳입니다.. contents도 좋네요... 백반도 경제적~~^^

2층으로 올라가시면 서울시를 축소한 모형이 있습니다. 아이들이 많이 좋아할듯.
