Sometimes it's really good to be a tourist in your own city . Seeing that many people cueing for the places you take for granted reminds you of the magnificence of Istanbul.
Must visit during Ramadan and hang around in festival area. Dont forget to try local foods from small cubicles. U will love it. And must take a panoramic photo from the center of the square
Somehow everything starts and ends here. Beside having almost all main attractions around here, on a sunny day you should just sit and soak up the sun and energy of the city .
Another great spot not to miss in the heart of history is Chora Museum which is significant with Byzantine frescoes . For more information, here is the official application. http://bit.ly/P3nsXi
It's educating . There are some monuments and information about each of them. Even an Egyptian obelisk from 1450 BC! And a German fountain .
Very beautiful place, unfortunately full of freaks that follow you around and take photos of you. They get scared ones you tell them you will call the police
In the middle of the most important tourist attractions , in the hustoric OldTown. Just be careful with beggers and pickpocketers. Otherwise nice place to enjoy a sunny afternoon.
Beautiful mosque in the centre where all the major places to see are . Start your site seeing early beat the rush as its crazy later on the day .
It's the most representative landscape of Istanbul. Try the roasted corn they sell in the little shops. And of course, don't leave without a selfie with the Blue Mosque on the background.
A very remarkable place with the fountains , flowers and a view over Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque . Lots of souvenir stalls and delicious food here such as roasted chestnuts .
This square offers more beautiful views than the insides of the mosque and museum nearby (because they both are under construction ).
Beautiful place to take pics, rest and observe. Won't buy street food though, it's of inferior quality, overpriced and not always health&safety complacent as they handle food and money with same hands
Very beautiful! There are a lot of museums worth visiting, but this square is great even just to spend time outside, great garden and views .
If you're willing to come here about 4 or 5am, it is completely empty and unbelievably majestic... you can have the entire square with its views to yourself.
Charming and historical. Great place for people watching and relaxing. Grab a sahlep drink and enjoy your day ????
Astonishing view , breathtaking architecture . It is absolutely a must see!
Great tourist spot.Munch on roasted chestnuts while sitting on one of the benches under the sun,in between Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofya..????
One of the most famous places you must visit in Istanbul.. Go there early ????????
Great place to chill , especially with children or just for a stroll around the hippodrome
Good for walks but for God's sake don't eat here, it's all overpriced and of a doubtful quality. Walk towards Sirkeci (2 tram stops direction Kabatas) and have your lunch there three times cheaper.
All of the museums in one place. When we were there, it was quite hot. There are some great ice cream stands in the area.
Yes . The history in here can make you feel the whole greatness. Plus the tourists which cause there to have a world wide, cozy atmosphere ...
Very beautiful square in the heart of Istanbul & it’s international icon, must visit
It is good time to go in the morning. see my suggestions for drinking coffee and eating. Do not spend a lot of money. they are ripping you off . Be careful to your bags and pockets
I feel so peaceful and relaxed every time I stand at this place between the two amazing monuments of Istanbul.
It's funny how when it starts raining umbrella sellers appear from nowhere. The same (!) cheap made-in-china-clear-umbrella can cost 5 euro, 5 dollars or 5 lira.
Alman çeşmesi ve dikilitaşları muhakkak gör.Zaten istemezsende görürsün .... You will definitely see the German fountain and the obelisks...
Great view at night for the mosque .. A nice stroll around this place
Come here at night you can feel different atmosphere that is fantastic ~
If you go on the summer, make sure to wear a hat to protect you from sun.
Insider travel is one of the beat tour agencies to visit, they have helped me plan my whole trip in just minutes ☺
There are lots of strange looking man walking around and ask you " do u need free guide for sight seeings" . Please beware of those !!! They are the touts of carpet dealers ! They rip you off harshly!
A beatiful historical place. A must see. Very crowded during ramadan, an interesting experience.
Try Sumit (Turkish Sesame Bread ) with cheese or grilled Corn .
Everything is so good. I liked the view of mosques .
Beautiful fountain . Sit on the edge and enjoy some people watching .
Wonderful atmosphere everything there makes you happy ????♥️
The Hippodrome of Constantinople was a circus that was the sporting and social centre of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire. Today it is a square called Sultanahmet Meydani.
If someone offers you help claiming that he is an official and can help you avoid ques to go into the blue mosque , just ignore him
Get some baklava and turkish delights at a nice shop and enjoy them sitting next to the fountain at the square :-)
I love this place. All historic places are there. Its charming, its full of people, its different.
Big mosque and beautiful place
The view is superb. If you're a photographer , you'll understand.
