Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken Soup

Must try when in Seoul! Q may seem long but move quite quickly. Love the rice in it, so damn good! The seafood pancake is quite good too.

I chose black chicken & wild ginseng . The service was very quick.It was a great experience. It was too much couldn't finish it. It is located in an old big building. Nice traditional ambience.

It's a well known place for ginseng chicken . Choose the white chicken unless u like herbal (black chicken ) taste. Salt n pepper can help with the herbal taste. Pancake was delicious!

Love the black chicken ginseng soup . Very hearty. Plus the chicken rotisserie with a ginseng rub inside was moist with crispy skin . Love it.

Traditional (inside a hanok) and a big chunk of ginseng compared w other stores. Rice is cooked just right and absorbs the chicken and jujube flavours.

Doesn’t have strong flavor but enough for you to feel the ginseng taste. Come at 11 AM in holiday to avoid crowd. Kimji here is very tasty!

One of the better Ginseng Chicken we tasted so far but probably not something we will que for. Be there bright & early to avoid the que follow by sight seeing.

Large place very well organized . a bit commercialized. Decent samgyetang . The chicken was a bit too cooked and nearly disintegrated with the lightest touch. I like my chicken with a bit of solidity.

Lovely ginseng chicken soup , which was well balanced in taste. Slightly catered to tourist but not too pricey - about 20k per pax. Come before 6pm to avoid the queues.

There is nothing vegetarian on the menu. But my friends loved the chicken . They give you a free tasting of the ginseng wine . Arrive early.

The line may look long but the wait isn't. Do not miss out on the infamous Samgyetang if this is your first taste of the soup . Tranquil, homely and impressivly large space . Great experience.

Black ginseng chicken is good. Pancake as well . Price gone up compared to the previous time.. But for first timer..is a must try..

The roast chicken can be a bit dry but very tender. As for the ginseng chicken , the taste is blended to a mild but pleasant taste even for those who hate ginseng like myself. Try both if possible.

Somewhere I would go at least once just to set a benchmark for Korean samgaetang. The most ex black silky fowl does taste better than the standard chicken .

Long queues. Consequence of its omnipresence on virtually all travel guides. Go early, 10am sharp or you'll risk hour-long waits despite its massive seating capacity. It is THAT good. Go.

Having Samgaetang and Korean bathhouse makes you as healthy as you can be in the cold winter in Seoul.

The restaurant makes you feel like you're eating at home. The chicken are well made, it's soft texture and soup is quite the crowd pleaser.

if you like chicken rice soup bowls (삼계탕)..this place was a fave of ex-president Roh Mu-Hyun for good reason. Delicious...but broth contains peanuts . If allergic, it cannot be removed

SamGyeTang , Ginseng chicken soup is one of the Korean's soul foods . My mom always made me this when I got cold, and Tosokchon's tastes just like my mom's.

I didn't particularly find this place is outstanding with samgaetang. But it is not so often to see black chicken made for samgaetang so if you are interested go for it otherwise, just try any local's

It's in all the guidebooks so expect throngs of tourists . The samgyetang is worth it in my opinion though. This place is quite big and service is well-tuned.

Was there around 3pm, no queue. I recommend two sharing a chicken and maybe an additional pancake .

Authentic Korean ginseng soup . Definitely good for those cold days in Seoul.

Tip the chicken in some salt ang pepper and put the bones in the stainless tin provided to keep your plate clean . The ginseng sake drink is quite strong.

Delish ginseng chicken (16k won). Nice traditional setting. Did not need to Q on a sat eve at 8 pm

Suggest going when it opens otherwise you run the risk of silly huge queues or that they run out

The line moves quickly, so our wait was only 15 min. It is pricey , a bowl of soup starts at 18,000 ₩ and up.

Long queue moves fast tasty roast chicken and classic ginseng chicken soup is good.

If you’re a company of 3, order at least 2 main dishes. They won’t allow 3 to share 1 dish. Samgyetang was not too bad but the roasted chicken was bit dry.

Great samgaetang, once you tried this, you'll have problem getting better ones

1. You need to wait to be seated. 2. Whole bunch of international tourists to taste to cuisine. 3. I think taste is great but nothing special compared to others

Chicken stew is delicious, but the black chicken stew is a little tough. Be careful of the ginseng liquor .

The ginseng chicken is full of flavour. Perfect dish for winter.

amazingly rich broth though service is a little unfriendly. but the food makes it worth the unpleasantries

I think this place became too famous. Large crowd and also time limit apply during peak hours. Food is okay and a bowl SGT cost 15000 won.
