Panera Bread originated in St. Louis, Missouri & is still called "St. Louis Bread Company" there. I always mention it to the staff , occasionally they've been impressed enough to give me a free cookie .
there were five people behind the counter and I ended up walking away. No one asked me if I needed anything they were all talking to each other.

This place is almost always busy and looks to be understaffed. If you are in a hurry, this is not your place. The food is great though.
