Absolutely the best department stores in London . The staff are so knowledgeable . It sounds silly but ask a more 'mature' salesperson & they'll probably have 20+ yrs of experience selling the product.

They have a huge baby/maternity section that has everything. If you are completely new then you can book a 2 hour consultation where they take you through everything you will need. Trusted experts.

Best facilities for parents. Large feeding and changing rooms. Very clean . Makes thing so much easier with a little one.

Oh I love John Lewis. This one has a fab Waitrose in the basement , a rooftop bar and a cracking Christmas shop .

Great range in homewares and furnishings and lighting for department stores but the service in every area is terrible. Never enough staff and they take no interest in trying to help you.

Great view over the square from the caffe, but head down to the patisserie in the foodhall to get nicer (and cheaper) treats before coming up!

Bobbi Brown is the make up of make up artists . Great quality, at good prices. If you're into serious red carpet make-up this is the place to go.

Helpful staff , but they will deliver or gift wrap .. But will not gift wrap AND deliver !! Be careful when Xmas shopping..

If you live in the W1 area, John Lewis will deliver foodhall shopping to your home. It costs £5 for shopping under £50 and £3 for £50 or over.

Check out the beautifully decorated roof garden at Christmas time . Lovely.

Tax free receipts are issued on the 5th floor, not at point of purchase throughout the store - be warned as there can be a queue

Beaware of some managers in appliance department , they know nothing but persuade you to buy the products. Always look for normal staffs for help!
