Situated as the centerpiece of the 1.2 mile-long Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is the first observation wheel of its kind in the United States

Along with the A/C gondolas, this wheel has one million lights, creating quite a light show at night. If you're afraid of heights, the breath-taking view will have no problem distracting you

Always busy but go during the fireworks show every Wednesday on the boardwalk!

Photo Tip: If you want to take photos inside the gondolas on the ride, take a black t-shirt with you, turn your flash off, and get someone to hold the t-shirt behind your head to block out the glare.

I wish we had been told about the VIP seating before we went back, it costs more but you get no waiting leather seats and see-through floors, and unlimited rides.

Photo Tip: Use a circular polarizer filter to reduce the glare inside the gondolas for the best photos you can capture.

We went on at night and it was nice but you probably have better views during the day or at sunset . There is also a self serve ticket machine out front if you don't want to stand in the ticket line .

It's fun. It goes slow so if you are prone to motions sickness you will be ok (except while you wait for it to start).
