The trail begins 1.8 miles upstream from the mouth of Waterton Canyon and runs 66 miles east-northeast through Douglas, Arapahoe, and Denver counties, ending in the Green Valley Ranch area in northeast Denver.

Don't litter, there are plenty of trash cans along the way and lots of people like to use this urban trail .
Nice view of a small waterfall on Cherry Creek . Be careful here to read the signs; the two trails cross paths here and it's easy to get lost.
