Great food and service at a very reasonable price. Beer selection at restaurant and upstairs bar are both excellent. Suggest going with a group for family style experience to try many dishes.
Philly is a great place for Ethiopian and Abyssinia has many vegan options . Plus there's a funny little bar above the restaurant certain Vegansaurs used to frequent in their salad days.
Esquire: this beloved Ethiopian spot makes you feel as though you've joined a family for dinner in their home—even if you happen to be dining alone.
There's usually a special fish of the day so don't forget to ask. The food is delicious!
Always a wait for the food, but worth it. Definitely go upstairs to fiume for after dinner drinks and feel cooler than you probably are.
One of Philly’s best Ethiopian spots . Wander upstairs to their under-the-radar bar , Fiume , for Thursday night bluegrass and a weekly special .
Great vegetarian options ! Authentic Ethiopian food !
Minimal food wait time and they even noticed I was vegetarian and gave me a platter separate from my meat-eating friend. Best-spiced Ethiopian food I've eaten!
The veggie platter rules. It's my go-to meal each time I visit Abyssinia! Definitely try it!
Great place for sharing, rather than getting individual entrées. The upstairs bar is super cozy .
Best with 2+ people. Get any meat dish with the veggie combo - perfect combination.
The food is fantastic and jazz at the bar was really enjoyable.
Occasional live music upstairs.
Get the chicken tibs w injera or the veg platter..if u want it spicy , u really have to tell them SPICY !!! They never seem to make it hot enough, because they don't think I can handle the heat.
Love the veggie combo !
Delicious! Enter through the side if you don't want to go through the bar
Very nice place to enjoy traditional Ethiopian food .
The best part about the place is that it wears the tiny whiskey bar Fiume like a hat. Read more
