Thee best sushi in the whole world! Sashami is to die for & the rainbow roll and soft shell crab roll are AMAZING!!!! Also you'll need to try the seared tuna , grilled miso aubergine & ocotpuss balls!!
Excellent Sushi and ambience. Some non-sushi favourites are: octopus fish cake , Grilled Aubergine , black-sesame ice-cream. For Noodles and rice dishes try their sister restaurant Sushiya .
This is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh by far! I went to Tokyo 2 years ago and this is a really authentic restaurant with really good, fresh food :)
So excited to see eel on the menu! All the dishes we ordered were spectacular! This place is definitely very good, authentic Japanese . Recommended!
By far, the best sushi I've ever had. The sashimi was stunning as well as the salmon teriyaki . The green tea ice cream is lovely. Excellent service !
Amazing quality of food and best mackerel nigiri I had ever tried. However, the salmon temaki has almost no salmon and come with lettuce (weird).
Please order anything on the menu cause it won't disappoint you. The Dragon Roll , KanPai Special Roll , Rainbow Roll or any rolls. They are amazing.
I've eaten sushi on four continents, and I can say that what I have eaten tonight at Kanpai ranks among the best sushi that I have ever had. If you like Sushiya at Haymarket, you'll love Kanpain
Went for take away option, did not find wasabi and ginger in the box with my sushi roll . They did not want to add avocado on my request saying that rolls are pre-rolled, which questions its freshness!
Amazing place! Atmosphere is very chilled and peaceful , quick service and delicious food.
I just love going there, its not cheap tho but im happy to pay the price for the quality of food they have, the portions are quite big and the service is always perfect.
Best sushi I've even had. High quality food and superb presentation. The green tea ice cream is something I'll never forget.
Everything is lovely. Baked honeyed aubergine very very nice. Dragon roll = yum!
Favourite Japanese in Edinburgh by far. Try the grilled nigiri .
All about the miso aubergine
Food was tasty, service was moderate, a bit pricy but worth the quality. Best for dating. Could be the best Jap rest in Edinburgh, but there are better in London.
Definitely the best I've ever had..and believe me I've tried a LOT!
RUINED VALENTINES-long wait to sit, booked in advance but put at bar in front of washing up. 40 minutes and only dumplings no other food arrived. Walked out.
Sushi and sashimi are really good!
The grilled aubergine with miso sauce was the best meal I ever had.
A bit pricey , but definitely worth it. Best Sushi in Edinburgh!
Best sushi in Edinburgh, seared tuna salad is amazing although they frequently run out of tuna !
Really love this place! Amazing food n great service!
Edinburgh seriously lacks sushi . As a sushi fiend, this is the only one worth going to for a proper Japanese fix.
Don't be put-off by the complex look of the dishes as the prices are extremely reasonable, especially the sashimi platter Read more
Maki , tempura , sashimi ... Actually everything exceptional
Been to many Japanese restaurants in Edinburgh and this one is best.
Not fresh, but still the best sushi bar here
The sashimi platter is amazing.
Arrived here alone just before 7pm but was told by the waitress that without a reservation they do not have anymore seats for 1 person even the bar was completely empty!
Aubergine is amazing
Best Sushi in all of Edinburgh!
The food is amazing, service could really be better
One of the best japanese restaurants in Edinburgh (y)
Sushi is really fresh.
Great fresh Sushi !
Tokyo roll... Goodbye fried shrimp hello fried chicken .
Now closed on Sundays! Devastated...
Great sushi !
Deliciousness
Tokio roll just the best ????????????
Fantastic meal! Wish I lived nearer.
Good quality sashimi but rather expensive for such a small portion, not great value for money .
They do takeaway too :)
