Amazing food at the bar & lounge . The staff are invisibly anticipating every need. Beautiful touches in room: dimmers on each lamp/light, pocket doors, soaking tub w/spray wand, comfy robes & slippers

The Umstead is fantastic in every way. The staff is friendly , the rooms are comfortable and amazing and most of the amenities are not extra! Fantastic.

Just had renovations in July 2013 and it is beautiful! The spa is fantastic and even has a co-Ed jacuzzi so you can be with your significant other!

Beautiful atmosphere and all around great experience. Great for a personal get away or a meeting to discuss business over good food.

If visiting the spa , try to get there early for wonderful sauna and lounge facilities! Or at least make sure you have some time to relax there after your appointment.

The beds are amazingly comfortable and don't even get me started about the showers . Lovely setting too - if you are up for a gentle stroll, why not walk around the lake

Relax & take advantage of the Orwellian service. They your wants anf needs b4 you do....

Try truffle popcorn and pickled veggies in lobby bar area--a touch if NYC on Raleigh!

Rooms are amazing bit the bathrooms are out of my dreams...

Must get the warm cookies and milk moose!!!!!

Any treatment over $90 (which is most all of them)allow you access to the spa facilities for the entire day!

Dining in room - the signature Caesar salad is delicious

Whatever you do, do NOT get the cheeseburger with sweet potato fries . I've been draped over the toilet the past 8 hours. Not fun.
