Wonderful building with good museums . Friendly staffs and/or volunteers all around made it a very interactive experience for the kids on the History of Cincinnati side.
Such a great example of Art Deco at its finest. Oh and world class museums and IMAX. Try catching an organ concert in there. Awesome.
The Rookwood Tea Room (now an ice cream shop ) is in the front of the rotunda to the right as you enter the building. The floor and walls are covered in Rookwood Tile. It housed the USO during WWII. Read more
A gorgeous historic facility that houses 3 museums , a special exhibit gallery , and an Omnimax theatre (IMAX in a dome).
This was once the site of Lincoln Park , which featured boats on a beautiful lake . By the 1920s it was filled with the homeless, so city leaders decided to close the park and build Union Terminal here. Read more
The history here is fantastic. Catch an Omnimax film and visit the Cincinnati history museum . I also did the High Steel tour .
The check in desk was usually dormant during the day but became a hub of activity every evening as porters checked travelers in for overnight trains . The large murals can now be found at CVG.
The Egypt Exhibition was excellent. It’s very large. Allow at least two hours. Saw a replica of the Rosetta Stone.
Come see the Mistletones as they carol throughout the Museum Center, Wednesday-Sunday through Christmas Eve. Also, check out A Christmas Carol (abridged) in Rickart Auditorium - free to the public!
There's a hidden area with train tables for the kiddos (by the Cincinnati Zoo display). You can check out a box of trains to play with at the kiosk, as you enter the museum .
Really amazing museum with a lot of history in Cincinnati. Highly recommend spending half the day here.

The Duke Energy Holiday Trains are a Cincinnati tradition. Their new home at Museum Center affords a lot more room to the display and includes the neighboring Holiday Junction area.
For the best photos: shoot first thing in the morning when the rising sun is hitting the front of the building. In the evenings the sun sets behind it, leaving the facade in the dark.
During the busy holiday season come as soon as the museum opens or earlier (10am) to ensure a close parking spot and a short line at the ticket counter.
You could spend a day here! Good for families , couples, dates, and even those going alone.
The people working here were very nice. They need 2do something about their lines . It seems that we spent half of our time waiting in line . Also, there needs 2B more handicap parking near the doors.
Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit attendance is increasing. Last weekend several times sold out. Get tickets in advance & go now before the crush if all the last minute crunch.
The DaVinci exhibit was very nice but due to the remodeling there is nothing else to do here unless you have kids. A return trip when it's finished is definitely on my list.

The museum offers an online exhibition to commemorate the life and career of Abraham Lincoln. It features digital scans of primary historical documents in Lincoln's hand, or signed by him.
Great place to visit on a cold day off with the kids! Also a fantastic venue to hold a wedding especially if you want great wedding photos & video.

Took the kids, didn't tell them is was history related, they enjoyed themselves, when pointed out that they learned a little history they were still intrigued.

If you live in the area, I highly recommend getting a membership. It's very affordable and worth every cent, especially if you have kids of any age.
Always a great place to visit. Try to go to the man-made caves down in the Natural History portion of the museum . Try the SpaceMan ice cream at the gift shop !

Don't wait to take children. At six months they will enjoy the Little Peeps area which is reserved for those under 18 months
