My almost 2 year old had such a good time that I'd recommend this over the Science Museum (even with the comparatively hefty entrance fee)

This pumping house was opened in 1838 to supply west London with clean water, and now houses a collection of early steam engines . The landmark Stand Pipe Tower is based on a Florentine bell tower.
