Cafe El Tapatio

This is now one of my favorite places to eat. The salsa , horchata , and tiger shrimp tacos are fantastic. I love to take people here who have never been. They end up loving it too.

Brunch menu served until 3:30 on weekends. The breakfast tortas are huge.

My gosh I love this place. The tacos are top notch, as are the fajitas and margaritas . Oh, and the chicken soup on a cold day is hard to beat.

Camarones al Tequila (Pan-tossed jumbo shrimp with guajillo adobo , garlic , onion , tomato , cilantro and flambéed with tequila . Served with arroz verde, guacamole and pico de gallo )

Don't waste your time with the regular size Margarita , just get the jumbo size and start the night right.

Ceviche (Citrus spiked Tilapia with pico de gallo , olive oil , and sea salt , served with saltine crackers )

POLLO EN MOLE DE REYNA (Chicken thigh topped with mole poblano , served with rice , beans and tortillas )

Good classic Mexican fare. If you can't decide what to eat, go with one of their several combo plates. Vegetarian friendly too

One of the best Mexican places in all Chicago. Pitcher of margaritas out in the sidewalk seating is great on a warm day.

This popular spot really jams people in to every nook and cranny. But the crepas de pollo are worth it!

Food's really gone downhill, u can tell my whole dish was nuked. Beans on plate completely dried out, rice was hard, plantain enchiladas EXTREMELY hot, hotter than if fresh made . Not busy at all.

If you're feeling like you could 'eat a horse' get the - Burrito Grandioso with chicken !

Good salsa and a great burrito , though their rice is a little bland.

The margaritas are VERY strong, which is nice. We always get tacos a la carte, but the sincronizadas are a good entreee. Don't fill up on chips/salsa because food is great.
