Pepe's Mexican Restaurant

Heard about this restaurant on theskedge.com and am really happy I did! It's cheap and better yet, delicious.I had the enchiladas and my gf had carne asada . I was jealous cause hers was a bit better!

Originally opened in 1971 in La Cañada, but were forced to relocate in 2007. They moved into this space in Montrose then, which was formerly Tom's Bargains.

Hard shell tacos are amazing. Gluten free if you can tolerate contamination from same fryers

Mexican beer Monday $2.50, Taco Tuesday $1.50 plus u must have a drink, Margaritas Wednesday for $2.50, Five buck (plates) Thursday.

Good margaritas . Food is consistent and yummy.

Spinach enchiladas = yum. Veggie fajitas = yuck. Note the lack of peppers and onions and the similarity to frozen mixed veggies . Don't say you weren't warned.

The arrachera here is delicious! Also for the chips and salsa , you can request a spicier salsa if you prefer.

Chili relleno with seafood . Other Mex standards.

Great tamarind margaritas !

FYI the red sauce contains flour so GF folks consider yourself warned.

Margaritas are nice and tasty.

This place overcharged me and I chalked it up as a mistake. The second time I had to say something. They were not in compliance and tried to tell me it was my fault. UNACCEPTABLE
