There may be no prouder accomplishment for a Chicago band than headlining at this legendary theater , which has hosted countless famous acts in its 30-plus-year history. Read more
One of the best venues in the city (and my first Chicago show when I moved here). Can be hot during the summer, but the quality of acts booked here more than make up for it.
If a doors open at 7 get here at 6:40 there's plenty of street parking . Sit in ur car for 15mins then pay to park till 9 (street parking is free after 9) it's way cheaper then parking in a lot
Get there a little early and stake out a spot on the upstairs balcony railing; sure, the floor's more fun, but the view from up top's unparalleled.
Premier venue in the city . Hip place in the hippest part of town . Saw the Pumpkins open the Siamese Dream tour here...that's what made me start writing music . Don't blame them...couldn't have known.
The arrangement or seating is great. The sound is amazing... And their craft beer on Nitro was perfect
Hey there music buff! Come by before or after the show for some cheap Mediterranean eats. Check in on Foursquare for our Newbie special for $10 off the purchase of 2 entrees.
Have seen many bands! Latest was Wild Flag! They ROCKED. The small venue is a great place to go, hang with your buds and listen to great music .
The sound is exceptional and they always bring the best musicians throughout the year!
Old club feel but a great vibe. Perfect for a show and a few cocktails .
The sound is great. The whole setup was great. And no lame barricades for hardcore shows I saw there like Judge and H20
Always a fun classic and historic spot to see local bands .
My favorite concert venue in Chicagoland.
A lot of their shows are 18+ so you don't have to be 21 to get in. Just check online in advance. The tickets are cheaper online anyway!
Metro is legendary. Just remember the men's room is on the 1st floor and the ladies' room is on the 3rd floor.
curling up in the floor and passing out is highly recommended
After a show head down to Smartbar and dance into the morning, a great two for one venue deal. Read more
If you're early in the line ...marathon sprint inside when doors open. Take the stairs left. 2 flights. And sit at a table like a golden god
Very cool venue. Small but you're close to the stage .
sweet venue for seeing great bands! huge variety of acts come through this place...it's not all just indie rock!
Go up stairs. The view great and the bar is close.
Get a stamp before going to buy band merchandise because it is located right outside where they check tickets. If you don't have a stamp, you can't get back in!
Security is fucking tight, sober up for like 5 minutes and don't act a fool. After that drinking and smoking do in the middle of the audience. Good venue tho.
1 of my favorite places! Go downstairs to smartbar after the show. If you run into Lenny tell him I said hello.
You can park at the McD's just down the street. Either somebody will be out working the lot or you can just go in and ask the manager and they'll sell you a parking pass for $10.
Definitely check out Metro's monthly 18+ dance party called One Night Stand. Free or cheap admission, always books the best local DJs , goes til super late, and usually includes freebies. GO! Read more
Iconic venue, I've loved it for over 30 years.
Smaller venue. GA is great all around. Merch table fills up quick.
Love to stand either on the 'old guy balcony ' or on the floor house left/stage right -- beer tub usually there, and great sound - Read more
Noctuna is an amazing night to go to for those into 80s and classic goth !
The sound is amazing for this medium sized venue
Go to the balcony - better view and less crowds (which means better access to bar and bathrooms too).
Fun place to watch a show but beware, it's incredibly hot inside!
Always a good show when. It's at the metro!!
Awesome venue, especially since it supports metal!
Great venue for live music !
One of the best live music venues in Chicago. Great history, great acoustics . A must.
Be sure to bring cash for the cash bar !!
If you're into the goth scene or just like industrial/gothic music , there's a semi-monthly dance event that if nothing else offers excellent DJing.
Metro is s great place to see a show! Good sound, sightlines and bands!
It's a great music venue
My favorite concert venue in the world.
Get a spot on the slightly-elevated back platform .
cash only bar ! page says takes credit cards , but that is only for tickets
By tickets at the box office and avoid all the service charges. Saves an easy 5-10 bucks per ticket. Open Tuesday through Saturday 12-8pm, take cash.
the best booze bang for your buck is a whiskey on the rocks. 7 bucks and prob 2.5 shots. do it.
My favorite place to catch a show.
Go early, and often!
