Huffman Prairie Flying Field

Historical site were the Wright brothers perfected their flying machines. A replica of the barn and launching catapult are on site. Lots of markers to read if you don't mind a walk.

It may not look like much today but this is a National Park and site of one of the most important technological feats in human history, the birth and advancement of flight!

On May 25, 1910 Orville Wright piloted a flight here with his 82 yr old father. The airplane reached a height of 350 ft and his father could be heard shouting "Higher, Orville, Higher!" Across the sky
