Martin Scorsese once called it the most beautiful cinema there is. And, while I don’t know for certain, you’ve got to imagine that Martin Scorsese has good taste in cinemas .

Great architecture , huge screen and very good programming in this classic movie theatre now owned by the Viennale .

A great historic kino with lovely 1960's vibe and the largest screen in town . Also a nice crew at the food stall and bar area.

Even if you don't want to go to the movies , it's worth stopping by for a drink at the bar in the lobby

Built in the early 60ies the Gartenbau is one of the last "programm cinemas " in Vienna and one of the main venues of the yearly film festival Viennale .

Old and stylish cinema . Get tickets in Row 15, no one in front of you and enough room for your feet ;)
