One of the best days out in cold weather for a long time. Well recommend you get here early so you have plenty of time to visit all areas.
Love this place .... go back in time watching the machines work... take a walk round the apprentice house tour it’s fantastic ... and if your a national trust member it’s all free
A very interesting look at history of cotton twinning and the working conditions were incredible
If it’s raining look around the Apprentice House and The Mill . They have working machinery in The Mill and it’s worth seeing the speed at which the looms move.
Lovely day out - the building is steeped in history with some wonderful examples of Victoriana. Nice gardens too.
Beautiful grounds to visit on a sunny day, and the ice cream parlour was a real treat!

Home to the most powerful working waterwheel in Europe, Quarry Bank Mill is a great example of the North West's industrial heritage. Also great for a picnic on a sunny day!
Free wifi in the café , which is good as most of the site is in a steep valley so there's very little mobile reception.
The gardens at the top of the hill have been renovated. Lovely meadow and little cafe .
get there early you will spend all day there and dont forget to get your ticket for the house cos it soon fills up

Buy National Trust membership. Good value compared to the entry price of individual places.
