I grew up on Cuban food from my parents... this place is LEGIT. Love the yucca frita and empanadas . Cuban sandwich = top notch. Cocktails are great, too (get that mojito .)
The extensive rum selection and cocktails are the highlight, accompanied by excellent, often spicy cuisine. Get the camarones al majo with a Rum Manhattan . Definitely request the latter served up.
The bar is a cool place to hang out - the signature cocktails are unique and it's quite easy to get in without a reservation .
Good food, ambience and service. Enjoyed it. Less vegetarian dishes but enough for a group of 4. Little hard to locate as the name of the restaurant is only on a little street sign like board.
The ropa vieja is amazing. Great rum cocktails . Sit at the bar area with the same menu if you don't have reservations .
Didn’t eat there yet but the food looks great, had some great rum . Super friendly and knowledgeable staff . I really learned tons of stiff about rum
Camarones Con Mojo(appetizer) is tangy and very good. For entree the Masitas I liked, coconut crusted snapper was sweet and the mashed potato was very buttery.
Very nice staff . The sweet plantains are good and they gave me a free beer because it was taking time to refill the tap.
Mojito all the way! My favorites here also include the empanadas , ropa vieja (+plantains !), and key lime tart . And another mojito .
Quite delicious. Could have made a meal of the appetizers : marinated olives and cheese were so good. Empanadas tasty.
The Coconut snapper is to die for. Excellent food and atmosphere. But easy to miss as there are no visible signs outside
Try the Cuban Cheesesteak - #kvpinmybelly - Lunch in #PaloAlto. I fell in love with tangy sofrito sauce over tri-tip, peppers and pepper-spiced cheese .
Rum-based cocktails are the bar stars here, along with braised meat & house-made chorizo , a signature ingredient in the paella .
Try the mussels ; and masitas , spicy roasted pork at this Cuban inspired restaurant . Very lively atmosphere . Read more
Good snapper and mahi-mahi, very solid selection of rums . Plenty of vegetarian options , too.
Masitas , mojitos , ropa vieja , chicken sandwich . The PEI mussel appetizer is amazing.
If undecided ask the staff . They know all the dishes and cocktails and will recommend you something interesting!
Eating at the bar is just as good and usually seats open quick. Also, probably the best way to ensure good service , too.
Great paella .serves two people. 7 more bucks for three
Sangria is great and all the food I've tried has been good
Paella De La Bodeguita is the must have!
Love the key lime pie martini and the masitas are delish
The croquettes and sangria make for a very happy happy hour (sans the discount )
Arroz ala Cubana with ground lamb ! Rocks!
Braised seafood rice and lamb chop !
Try the mojito with Bacardi limon and plenty of fresh mint , or anything from the rum list.
Ummmmm if you don't order the rum punch , you're dead to me. It is epic. Epic! So perfectly strong. Do it
Careful not to wild out on the bread . The sauce is addictive and the keep bringing it. Also, get the plantain chips .
They give you a birthday treat for your birthday :)
The appetizer with shrimp is deliriously delicious. Delieve me.
This place is super over priced for the quality and flavors of the food. Not only that but it made me sick. Head to a local taco joint and save your money and your stomach
Mojitos , empanadas , and chili dipping sauce - everything here is good!
Order the Nacional #1. You won't regret it!
Buy a drink at the bar then go to the Cigar Lounge in back
Bistec de palomilla at lunch is to die for!
Humidor in the back, and great mojitos and Cuba Libres .
Try the Coconut crusted Red Snapper . To die for!
Still cranking out great food & drinks for over 10'years now. Try the Hemmingway with grapefruit (not on the menu ) and the empanadas :)
Didn't order food myself, but reviews from my friends are positive. Dark and Stormy drink is great. Love the place and will go back for more.
Best Cuban place in the Palo Alto area!
the cocktails are amazing
Not a lot of vegetarian choices or gluten free choices .
Get the fried yucca , and save room for the Key Lime Tart .
Get the Paella ! You won't regret it!
Pulled pork sandwich and sweet plantains
First thing you should say when you are here is 'Can I get a mojito , please?'
Fantastic food and cigar bar .
I recommend mojotos, ceviche and the empanadas . Toucan go wrong
People, food and location.
Try the grilled chicken breast sandwich , you won't be disappointed.
