Fried chicken Malabar dum briyani ($14 for jeera/cumin rice ). Order served in a metal bowl with the meat within (‘dum’). Scoop out onto banana leaf to start eating. Very aromatic with the shallots
This is their vegetable meal ($10 for white rice , $11 for brown). Dishes are spicy . Unlike thali meals elsewhere, extra rice & vege are chargeable
The simpler way the waiter asked for our order was white rice (ponni rice )? or brown rice (kuthari rice )? ????
The service is confused and absent but the seafood dishes was really great and worth the effort to get seated and served.
Good Kerala food (authentic , home style , economical)
Good malabar briyani . Jeera rice , and one of the better ones I've tasted.
Don't ever go there on festival days, especially Oman. Daylight fleecing. They will charge you SGD 15 to give one spoon of several kootus and avials. You literally have to beg them to give more rice .
Kerala food in Singapore. Good but a little pricey .
We enjoyed our initial visit to sample Kerala cuisine. Will return with guests to try their other interesting dishes - Cheen The Curious
Chicken boneless biryani is a must try .. Beware it's spicy but tasty .. Also chicken igguru is also good .. For more traditional meal try sankranthi special meal - Hareesh Nuthi
Coffee: An unexpected find. Their milk coffee is really, really good. It has a different (& pleasant) fragrance, & tastes gr8! - Cheen The Curious
