Along with a great selection of hard-to-find and independent films , the theatre's concessions counter is one of the best in the city , with vegan cookies and a popcorn seasoning bar on offer.
Favorite art house cinema in Lakeview hood and nearby Wow Bao great for warming comfort food before/after movie . Miss food court briefly in LL, but ax throw contest last time was there very scarey.

Recently renovated. There's a full bar , and you can take your drinks into the theater with you.
Finally urban-sophisticated design sense is being applied to the internal scheme of this odd & old building . A form-follows-function design team is reimagining and redecorating the building. Progress!
The most amazing and friendly staff here! My friends and I accidentally went into the wrong movie , yet we were able to catch the right movie an hour later, no problem. Thanks again xx
LOVE the independent flicks here. They have actual TASTE!!! Large popcorn is refillable. Pay for one, stay for two.....
They redid the cinema recently and have a beautiful bar . Nice selection of wines and whiskies and allowed to take them into the theater.
Vegans rejoice at the Alternative Baking Company cookies ($4.50). Surprisingly good, they're available in a ton of flavors like peanut butter-chocolate chip , lemon poppy seed , and oatmeal raisin .
The best arthouse theater in the Chicago area! Take a look at the beautiful terracotta facade left over from when this was the Diversey/Century Theatre. Absolutely stunning!!
They just redid the theatre. The seats are huge and have push button controlled foot rests.
Buy your tix ahead of time. If you're seeing a movie during the weekend be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early or you'll only be able to grab a seat in the first two rows.
A bit of an older theater, but plays amazing films that you may not be able to see elsewhere. Surprisingly not that expensive for its location. Overall, great experience.
My favorite movie theatre in the city . Shows all the movies not enough people are talking about.
Small quaint theater with great food and beer options !
Comfy seats , good location
Free parking in the garage next door. Get your parking pass validated at the box office .
Love landmark ! Great foreign and independant movies , great concession
Best theater, best seats, best picture screen, best popcorn ever!!!!!!!!!
Great Indy Theater , good popcorn too!
Great selection of movies . The building is a relic of 90s architecture , though.
It’s kind of hidden so you really need to look for it.
Watched Trishna (with Amy H)- could have edited better. Too long. Like the original version than this one but it was good movie to watch on a Thursday night.
Seats are subpar but probably one of the better theatre's in the city .
Midnight shows are different every week. Go see a classic film on the big screen .
Always has the indie movies showing. The mall it is in is kind of sketchy though.
You can pay for parking as you leave. No need to wait for the kiosk.
Fed Up: highly recommended documentary is your are curious about the obesity epidemic!
Great Theater with a lot of hot gay boys here!!! Best place to go but buy tickets ahead of time!
One of the better places to catch a limited run movie
Some really great movies are shown here!
Awesome location, reasonable prices!
Some of the films they have here just blow my mind.
Ask the guys behind the counter what they think of the movies . You'll get straight talk about what's on offer.
Use the machines to buy your tickets and pick the student fare. Save yourself some cash.
getting a little rundown, but still the best art cinema in town .
Get a front row seat (upper section) so you can put your feet up on the bar !
Catching the “Where the Bears Are” documentary …

Best indie/art house cinema in Chicago.
The bar/cocktail lounge is open.
Watch out for the old men at the automated ticket boxes. They are ruthless!
The food is expensive , but that's how it is at the theatre!
Best place in town to catch an independent movie .
Lot of WiFi in the area!
All Americans need to see '12 Years A Slave.' Period.
They need to remodel cuz da decor is so 90's I thought Screech was gonna pop out of a dark corner
Hertz has taken a whole level of the best spaces in the garage . Ugh!
Jimmy Carter Rock & Roll President
With validation, parking is really cheap . Only $5. Beats the CTA or trying to park on the street.
