Adorable charming Inn . Have dinner in the dining hall , Or go less formal in the authentic and wonderful on site tavern. Then go downstairs to visit the lions den for cover bands and fireside beers .
We went for atmosphere, not food. LOVED the atmosphere--wide creaky old floorboards; ACTUALLY quaint, not "quaint"--AND BONUS, were surprised by how good the food was. Start with a drink on the porch !
The hotel is amazing! Every room is different & every floor has it's own character along with interesting quaint common rooms. 4th floor has neat little library . Dinner is incredible! !
A perfect B & B to escape the big city . Stay for breakfast . Bring a coat.
Hiking trail behind the hotel (about half mile to get to trailhead) - Ice Glen (roughly 3.5 mile to loop it).
Michaels is our regular place to eat. It had a casual bat area or you can sit down for dinner . Reasonable pricing.
We eat at the Elm Market right around the corner. Nothing fancy but great breakfast . Good place to buy snacks . They will pack food to go.
Stay in one of the suites behind the main inn . Feels more private and secluded, with easy access to the rest of the inn .
Pay a little extra to get a room with a private bathroom . It is worth it unless you like to share a bathroom with 100s of strangers.

Eat at the Elm Street Market around the corner. It's a small market with lunch counter. Not fancy . For a a step up eat across the street at Michaels.
Amazing antique decor and ambiance. Pricey lunch and dinner options, but worth it.

The Firehouse is a great place for the family even if the official limit is two people.
Look for Simon , lobby ambassador, on the side porch . Such a friendly feline. :)
Katie the waitress is very informative and makes you feel right at home. The inn cat Simon is a sweetie but don't approach him, let Simon come to you
Go downstairs to the Lions Den . Food is fabulous and the live entertainment is wonderful!
The duck is amazing. I also love the traditional turkey with stuffing entree. Amazing experience all around.
Great pub . Grab a drink and chill on the porch . ????????
Best hotel in the area. Check out Naumkeag when you're there.
Great old fashioned inn . Nicely decorated and maintained.
One of the all-time greats.
Prime rib with a huge popover was stellar.
My favorite place in the Berkshires!
We have not had great luck at any of the restaurants next door. The ice cream place and adjoining food have slow service.
Great pool for evening swim .
Carrot and Apple soup was great Vegen food
Norman Rockwell made tons of drawings of this place.
Everything is great
Excellent ambiance but very crowded .

Sitting on the porch is my weekly power vacation.
