Chip+Malt

Cod was fresh enough & the batter was light & crispy . The chips were crispier than at other fish & chip places - authenticity isn't always a good thing for food, since British chips tend to be soggy!

They have the largest selection of fish I've seen at a fish & chips shop : cod , haddock , pollock, halibut and orange roughy . There's also a halloumi cheese option for the vegetarians .

Fried stuff was served with a lot of tartar sauce . It had a creamy nice tang. It was served in a cardboard box, not wrapped in (news)paper. While less traditional, this made it more practical to eat.

Cod & chips was a big portion of both & coleslaw (so it wasn't just fish & chips ). Fried stuff very fragrant. Coleslaw was disappointing. While crisp & fresh it was missing something, tasting flat.

Friendly and helpful staff ! The menu has a decent variety too, in case you don't want fish and chips .

We had the halibut fish and chips . The best we have ever had, anywhere.

Haddock sandwich is great, so are the burgers and Sheppard Pie
