This is mission is rich with California history . Don't bother with bringing stuff to do. Just park downtown, walk to the mission and visit the historic district and all its shops.
Mission San Juan Capistrano offers 10 acres of history dating from 1776. The gardens are perfect for relaxing, the mission’s treasures priceless and in the summer concerts are held under the stars.
Was pleasantly surprised. I drive by all the time, but never knew there was so much to the mission. Beautiful place, relaxing gardens , and historic atmosphere. I will definitely be back to enjoy more.

entrance is on the Ortega Hwy meets Camino Capistrano. We didn't know at first so mistaken San Juan Capistrano church as Mission but found out after few minutes inside the church
Beautiful setting, gorgeous gardens and very atmospheric historical buildings - highly recommended.
