資生堂ギャラリーは1919年にオープンした、現存する日本で最古の画廊といわれています。途中、震災や戦争、建物の改築による中断を除き、「新しい美の発見と創造」に取り組み、日本の芸術文化の振興に寄与してきました。これまでに開催した展覧会は3,100回以上、資生堂ギャラリーを作品発表の場として、後に日本美術史に大きな足跡を残した作家も数多くいます。
