Bourbon Street is a famous & historic street that spans the length of the French Quarter. When founded in 1718, the city was originally centered around the French Quarter. New Orleans has since expanded, but "The Quarter" remains the cultural hub, & Bourbon St. is the street best known by visitors.

Wander the great Vieux Carre district and whoop it up, but once you near Rampart Street, watch out-- a man once threw either a blessing or curse of dried beans and petals at my feet.
If you're here you gotta have a hand grenade at least once. Cat's Meow is a ton of fun but have that ID ready, door men can be douches.

Kind of like a car crash. So awful but you just can't look away. No, but in reality some good times. Try out lucky Pierres, and mind the drunk guys that get a little grabby.
If it's a hot, humid day (when isn't it) don't go until sunset or they clean the trash, vomit & other motley assortment of who knows what b/c it STINKS! Or get drunk at the first bar you see...
Street entertainment and plenty of drinks.
Fun time tons of yummy drinks and crazy people.... this is a mini vegas.
Be careful, when asked "you got den shoes on yo feet!" Then keep walking ;)
Ahhh... Open containers laws will spoil you! I suggest the Tropical Itch from Tropical Isle . It's stronger than the Hand Granade... be prepared!
The locals don't really go here. It's pretty much tourists only. ???? But still fun to do a stroll through just to see it.
Watch out for horse poop. If someone tells you they "bet they can tell you where you got your shoes ; city and state ," they're right. Hurricanes and hand grenades .
