Did you know El Cortez is seeking historical designation for its architectural design and its Mob ties to Bugsy Siegel and Moe Sedway? While downtown, visit the Museum to learn more about these men.
A must go when in Vegas. This place is the old fashion all the way. Worth the visit and the gambling . Think outside the box and go away from the bling bling on the strip.
If a lower priced Vegas vacation is your higher priority, this hotel would be a great choice. It's not on the strip, but this little section of Fremont Street is an awesome alternative. Read more
So sketchy but you have to go. $1.00 video blackjack tables and super attentive servers making sure you always have a (free) drink in hand. Make sure to tip!
Love this place- classic Vegas all the way. Cheap table games and video poker, and the omelette at Seigel's is probably the best omelette you can get downtown.
Gorgeous room with windows that open. Way nicer than i pictured a downtown hotel/casino. Rolled in around 4 AM and hung out with a surly, but funny, bartender . Great 21 tables, not so loose slots.
Solid coupon book for new slot club members includes match play, keno discounts , free slot play , food discounts and a free drink. Enjoy the coin slots and good low-limit blackjack - and win some money
Get a players card so you can use their garage at will. Show the guard your card upon entry and you don't need any validation or cage check in. You will be in. A great spot for downtown parking .
Vintage rooms have no elevator access, and smells really strongly of cigarettes, even in n/s rooms. But rooms were clean and its a great bargain! Very nostalgic. Ive been there twice, and ill be back!
You've just checked-in to a real piece of Las Vegas history. This hotel was run by Mobster Bugsy Siegel . Dig around downtown and see where else you can find information on this infamous Mobster. Read more
Booked third party and got a great deal even with extra fee charged when I got there. Room older Vegas style but not run down. Clean room with modern amenities . Firm mattress but luxurious bedding.
Cool style - old school VEGAS in downtown. Rooms are cheap but kind of creepy.
Not bad digs for < $30. The Tower rooms have been remodeled, with comfortable beds and fine furnishings; clean sheets and bathroom . There's noise from the Fremont Experience, so bring earplugs.
Friendly service , fast drinks, low minimums, great rooms. I love the Cortez
Go to the $5 black jack table here and play all night without losing your shirt !! They also pay out on blackjack before the dealer turns his cards, so that's nice.
A slice of old Vegas. Soak it in and play some table games with fair rules. Also, the piano player rocks. While you're here, indulge in some friendship-building tequila . It's cheap .
Good burgers , affordable beer & wine . Across the street from "Container Park "h
5$ black jack. The draft beer is often on promo. Don’t forget to tip the waitress if you go for the free one ( Corona / Heineken )

???? Stayed in the 'Pavilion' rooms above the parking garage ...the mattress felt like it was one Bugsy Siegel slept on, old & lumpy ????????
Good burgers , affordable beer & wine . Across the street from "Container Park "
A monument to old school Las Vegas. No bells and whistles, just lots of gambling and cheap drinks .

Didn't gamble , but has an old world gangster charm to it. Built in 1941. An affordable alternative to the Strip.
The younger crowd is hanging out here now since these new clubs opened up so come check it out
Subway smells soooooooooo damn good! Fresh bread made daily! Yum!

First. Ight has been great so far. Slots pay more than any other place I've been. Checking in at night is a challenge though...
Best Elvis impersonator I've seen so far. Fridays and Saturdays 6-10
Check out the exterior façade. It’s the same one that graced the El Cortez since it opened in 1941.

Definite "old school" vibe to the place.
Good $5 blackjack tables, great vintage casino

Grab some tacos from the taco truck down the block and hit the three dollar craps table after midnight. This is proper Las Vegas.

Before building the Flamingo on the strip, this downtown hotel was run by notorious Mobster Bugsy Siegel .
Non smoking rooms still get smoke if you live on the second floor above the casino
Five dollar craps and 10x odds. What's not to love about this place?
This place is gross but you can play cheaply and drink free for a long time.
The room was nice... at first glance. The bath tub was dirty , the hotspots in my room was nonexistent and the t.v remote didn't work. Too bad I'm stuck here for a couple more nights.
This casino opened in 1941 and was owned by Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel who sold it to fund the construction of the Flamingo Hotel .
Vintage rooms are just not very pleasant to be in. When they say vintage room, it just means it wasn't renovated for years or decades. The casino is stinky and the surrounding streets r loud
there Jackie burgers are also very good
