When going to the Citizen Services section, you don’t need to stand in the giant line with people getting visa’s, but you still need to fight the mob to force your way in.

The pick up hours are short so plan your visit with a stop for food somewhere nearby

Efficient, didn’t experience any crowds or problems, at least not in the morning. Don’t bring a laptop . You can check in your smart phones and watches, and retrieve them later.

Don't bring your laptop . If you're not a U.S. citizen , don't bring any electronic device or a bag. If you did, exit the front of Westgate Mall and check it in at 77 Jiangning Road for 20 RMB.

You can’t bring your phone in, but if going to the Citizen Services Section, you get a little cubby hole to leave your phone. But... need to fight the crowd again to retrieve it after.

Closed wednesday afternoons, can only pick up passports in the afternoon. You do the logic. And schedule an appointment online.

Be careful, everything is way more expensive than what you think. $50 per page for notary , $100+ to renew passport .
