Everything Is the Best, but particularly the Pinocchio (proscuittuo, sopressata , mozzarella , sweet red pepers, and olive paste) and the Pavarotti (alami, smoked mozz , sun dried tomatoes , artichoke ).
The original, tiny Soho storefront opened a slightly larger Midtown location. The cash-only, grab-and-go establishment draws massive lines for its enormous Italian sandwiches . The wait is worth it. Read more
Get here around 11:15 and wait until it opens so that you'll be the first in line . Otherwise, expect to wait a while. Best Italian sandwiches in the city , hands down.
Pretty much everything on this sandwich shop 's menu is a good choice, but our favorite is the Da Vinci: sardines or mackerel layered with sun-dried tomatoes and Bel Paese cheese on a plank of bread .
The pinnochio is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Cash only . Get there early, the line is always long and it's a small staff .
Alidoro, makers of the city 's most delectable sandwiches , have outdone themselves with their latest special: an Italian Cheesesteak . It features sirloin steak , provolone cheese and garlic mushrooms . Read more
With ingredients as fresh & delicious as these, you really can't go wrong with any of these sandwich choices. My favorite is the Matthew .
Alidoro’s sandwiches — which get stuffed with prosciutto , chicken , mozzarrella, eggplants , and so on — are huge without being sloppy. They’re like a refined version of an Italian deli sub .
If you didn't know this place was there, you'd walk right by it, but it's worth stopping in and trying any of the Italian sandwiches on the menu, which you have to order by name and can't sub out.
Phenomenal sandwiches ! Whatever you get, get it on the sfilatino bread . Highly recommend the Pinnochio and Michelangelo. Bring cash!
amazing authentic Italian sandwiches . a great spot for a quick delicious meal if you're sightseeing. I would get it often if I lived nearby too!
The most amazing Italian deli sandwiches ! Every sandwich is fantastic with their fresh meats and cheeses . And the bread ! Watch out though: when they run out of bread early afternoon, they close!
The Pinocchio is a piece of art work. Prosciutto , sopressata , fresh mozzarella , sweet roasted peppers , olive paste. Prices aren't too bad considering they are 12+ inches.
The bread is the star here. The menu is intimidating, but it's all the same 6 ingredients over and over so just choose your meat, cheese , and spread/veggie.
If the line is out the door, your wait time will be approximately 15-20 minutes. Photograph the menu at the door to read in line but don't forget to review the specials at the counter!
I always go for the amazing Alyssa sandwich , but this time around, thought the focaccia was too dense. Will probably opt for the standard roll next time.
Make damn sure you know what you want and on what bread before you get to the front of the line . They don't mess around with their speedy service. It's a good system, respect it!
Italian sandwiches are classic and homey at this small shop, with its endless variations of fresh mozzarella , tomatoes , pesto , and prosciutto on top of crunchy bread .
Probably the best Italian sandwich shop I have ever been to! My personal favorite is Da Vinci, it's a seafood sandwich with sardines.
One of the best sandwich places in the city . Order the Matthew and you won't be disappointed.
Very good products and tastes from Italy in quite large sandwiches . They are a bit expensive though which can make you hesitate to choose it
Follow the rules to avoid any sass here. Get the Pinocchio: prosciutto is shaved before your eyes and layered carefully with sopressata , fresh mozzarella , sweet roasted peppers and olive paste. Read more
The sandwiches are all fantastic. Go ahead and spend another buck to get a bread you really love...like focaccia !
Have you ever liked the first thing you ordered somewhere so much you don't dare to get something else next time? I've been eating the Fellini on Focaccia here for 15 years. I could eat one now.
Cash only ! Amazing sandwiches that are definitely enough to share. Try to make your way down the entire menu - they are all really that good.
Don't leave the door open. Be ready to order. Don't talk when he's watching movies . Carefully listen for your sandwich when it's called. The sandwiches are great if you can avoid getting scolded.
Sandwiches are good and simple. One or two meats, one or two vegetables , one cheese , good bread . A bit too expensive for me though, especially given what you could get at Faicco's
Make sure you know what you want. She's the sandwich/soup lady. She always repeats what your order to the whole place. Hilarious! Great sandwiches .
Everything here is great. Don’t overthink it and don’t ask for suggestions or substitutions
The Pinocchio is unbelievable. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had in NYC.
Get the Matthew on white bread . Be prepared to order and pay, or get yelled at!
I didnt know about the lady sandwich Nazi :( .. Go in prepared. The sandwich was delicious and giant. Get the sfalitino bread but dont ask for it hot or you'll get a stern talking to!
Oh my. This is one of the best sandwiches . Quality ingredients. Cash only , and pricy . Sandwiches range from $10-$15.
They got me hooked. They understand the science of layering a sandwich . My perfect $14 Romeo is worth the trip every time!
Sandwiches are amazing. Do everyone in line a favor and know what you want ahead of time. Recommend anything that sounds Italian
The sandwiches are delicious, but the owner is a Trump supporter and will talk your ear off about politics if given the chance!
The Romeo is a spicy chicken sandwich . Get it! This place is the real deal.
Good sandwiches and bread - I got the Alyssa with chicken but tried my friends Marconi with capicola which was so much better so don't get a chicken sandwich
These are among the best sandwiches you'll ever eat. Know what you want before you get to the front of the line , pay $0.50 to upgrade to semolina bread , and have cash ready to pay.
a beautiful new york city classic. to try: alyssa and porchetta . and then make your way down the list.
Alidoro’s sandwiches — which get stuffed with various permutations of prosciutto , chicken , mozzarrella, eggplants , and so on
originally called Melampo, when Walter learned his trade from the original sandwich nazi who is now gone. No substitutions, but the sammies are the tits. Best in NYC. Frugoletto or Pinochhio FTMFW.
Well worth the money. Plenty of great sandwich places in the city , but this place might top them all!
The owner is a truly miserable woman, so just don't expect friendly service . The sandwiches are delicious and worth the trip. Really.
melody on focaccia is the jam . tuna , artichokes , and dressing deliciousness.
Delicious, huge, classic Italian sandwiches , no coffee , no credit cards, cash only , run by an always angry woman.
My go-to is the Fellini: soprasatta, mozzarella , hot peppers , and arugula on focaccia . It's awesome.
Always a line but worth the wait for great italian deli meats
cortina sandwich on focaccia - smoke prosciutto , mozzarella , arugula , and dressing
The best (and only) $12 prosciutto and cheese sandwich on wheat bread that I've ever had.
Amazing subs! Get the meatball parm - you won't be sorry. - Karl With A "K"
One of my go-to cheap lunch places. Can‘t go wrong with a Banh mi Saigon and a shrimp salad. - Philipp Nass
Their classic Reuben sandwich is scrumptious! Highly recommend. - Giulia Prati
Yes, it's worthy waiting in the line for the cronuts! Madeleines are very good too! Little but very cozy place! - Ivana CMS
Love the raw bars they sell and they make a tasty almond milk cappuccino - super cute mini outdoor alcove area - Claudia Colonna
Beautiful, European style park. Occasional live music and outdoor chess makes it a hit. - Gajtana Simonovska
