The Old Orchard
The Old Orchard has recently undergone a careful refurbishment, and we think it's an absolute gem. We've put the bar back into the heart of the pub, built a sunny extension to take advantage of the extraordinary panoramic views, refitted the kitchens, and generally tidied up all round.

Lovely food, especially the barbecue that they have in the summer. Great selection of British beers and lovely surroundings.
The view is spectacular from the car park , so get a window seat if you can. Had the mussels which were pretty decent.

Got here at 4:30, no fish and chips no roast no burgers . Had tl queue 20 minutes to find that out. Understaffed horrendously today, only excuse is it's the first sunny day of the year so was packed.

Lovely Canal lock, my favourite on the Southern stretch (other than my home turf Cowley Lock). Nice to walk / bike to, sit and watch live go by, and maybe wander up to the Old Orchard pub for a pint. - P.J. Gathergood
