See it now before it closes for renovation at 2018. Still used by common people, not much souvenirs and other tourist lures, very authentic , friendly service and delicious food.
Second floor coffee place is peaceful for intimate . Also nice alone. Everything is fresh and tastes good. Plastic container had inside one of the best feta salads I ever had outside Greece. See pic.

Traditional market hall that’s recently undergone extensive renovation. It’s almost certainly more expensive than it used to be, with more of a tourist focus, but it’s a nice place to wander around.
This was even better than the old Kauppahalli couple of weeks ago! Especially for shopping. But if you want to eat at The place, then I recommend the new "old Market place"

if you're into the more sour kind of rye bread , try the one from Tuffen Herkku . their rye bread is pretty, pretty good (crisp crust on the outside, softer & doughier on the inside).
