As a San Diegan with easy access to the the greatest zoo and animal park in the world, I wasn’t sure if this place would pass our expectations. It does!! Lovely, well tended.
They have a new app on iOS that gives a guided audio tour of the park and each animal and garden ! Even invalids the unique and special buildings on the property! Don’t forget to download the app now!
I would suggest finding out what time they do the chat with a giraffe and other extras.We missed everything by 20 minutes.Be prepared to spend some time to visit all the features they have to offer!
What a wonderful oasis and stunning zoo . Loved the Big Cats and Hyenas and Australian animals !! Well worth the admission and they r building more!!

Don't miss the Wildlife Show! Seeing the owl and the falcon was freaking awesome. Also, the big cat they bring out is amazing. I WANT ONE IN MY HOUUSSEEE.
Go early enough in the day & bring water, snacks & hiking boots to take the Wilderness Loop Trail - amazing desert views !
Beautiful place to explore, with some unique animals (who frequently may be sleeping due to the heat) and love that they have hiking trail access!

You can easily spend an entire day here! There was a long line for the giraffe feeding, but it moves fast and is worth it!
Beautiful and relaxing setting! There are even long hikes you can take up the mountains .
Much nicer than I was imagining. Clean , spacious and tons of animals and activities!
Cool for plants. Unable to see leopard, coyotes, wart hogs, & cheetahs but saw big horn sheep, 2 month old giraffe & mexican wolf. Great idea if you have kids...
Don’t forget to check out the awesome aviaries and walking gardens all over the park !
Be sure to check out the columnar cactus garden and the canyon garden ! Absolutely amazing!
