Absolutely the best Japanese restaurant in Melbourne . Chef/owner Mr. Nonaka ensures perfection is always at hand. Try the signature dish sashimi ice ball. The best selection of saki in Melbourne.

Kerensa

Go for the degustation menu which includes sashimi served in an ice globe . Probably the best Japanese restaurant in Melbourne ! Oh and don't forget to have a glass or two of saki along with the meal.

David Lu

Great customer service and wonderful, well designed degustation menu . Highlight for me is the sashimi in a ice globe !

Alicia Oh

Tried both the shoya and matsu sets for lunch . Most of the courses were nice. Tempura was light and crispy but the grilled fish was overcooked and tough. Green tea ice cream was creamy and more-ish.

J

Diced Wagyu beef with teriyaki sauce is extremely tender. The ume lunch set is really good

Mandy Moo

It was all quite good actually - friendly service , fast efficient and tasty meals and good quality ingredients. Will be back.

Norbi Whitney

Beautiful place, and amazing service. Can't deny the food is perfect, but extremely expensive .

Bernard Lee

Plum wine was delicious. No complaints on the food at all except the pricing - be ready to fork out an above average amount. The sea urchin cheesecake was ordinary - couldn't taste the urchins lol.

Vijay Logan

Best Japanese restaurant in melbourne ! Platers and degastation are well worth the price. And do try the plum wine on the rocks or with soda !

Pedro Merces

Above average Japanese food . Great place for a cheeky lunch too...

Best meal I have ever had. In my life. $180 degustation is astonishing. Rips tetsuya to shreds.

Do the Degustation at Shoya. The best Japanese you'll have outside of Japan. Just amazing.

I expected more from the ambiance, but the food was pretty good. I actually preferred the mains over the starters. Service could be faster.
