Arrive early and head straight for the Straw Hat Cafe before it gets crowded to avoid the massive wait. Be sure to check out the Saturn Theatre for original short animation limited for the Museum !
Look in every corner, nook and cranny... or you'll miss something! Be sure to see the show in the theater (show up early to get in line ) bc they are usually exclusives you won't be able to see again!
What an experience! You don’t have to be a Ghibli/Miyazaki fan to enjoy this museum . It disconnects you from reality and takes you to a lovely place. Won’t be my last visit for sure ????????
Great for the Studio Ghibli fan ! Arrived at 10am and short wait (15-20min) to get in. Make sure you buy your ticket beforehand (website has details, can buy from Lawson ) as there aren't any door sales
The collection is tiny yet beautiful. The only way to get tickets from overseas is asking someone in Japan to buy them for you. But be aware that they’ll ask at the gate for the ID of who bought them.
As much as I want to love this place with all my heart: its lack of crowd control and lack of English information makes me a bit sad. Go early! Head for the gift shop first to shop in peace .
You can easily walk here from Mitaka station . Plan to spend at least 3 hours getting lost here. There's lots that you won't see if you don't look close enough ;)
We had a wonderful tome, cute museum , good gift shop and you can attend a show. Make sure you queue 10 mins early for the show
It's quite small but very interesting and worth going especially if you're a fan, some really cool insight into the animation process using traditional techniques
I got my ticket through JTB in NYC before I went to Tokyo. I took the Keio-Inokashira line and walked through Inokashira Park . The museum was an incomparable delight. A "must see"!!
Brilliant experience that will allow you to become little child again. Prefectly explained the background of how the movies are created. If you're a Ghibli fan, it's an absolute must!
Very cool museum . Quirky layout of the building, giant Cat Bus inside to sit in, plus you get to see a short Ghibli film only available at the museum .
Museum showcasing the art , design & innovation of the famous studio. Must-do pilgrimage for fans. Book the tickets online through Lawson , which is open for booking 1 month before.
Must-go place for Studio Ghibli fan . Recommend to book your ticket even before your leave your country or at convenience store ASAP you get to Japan. Amazing museum !!!
Even if not a fan of Ghibli Studios work, you should drop by and enjoy this awesome place! A great insight to how animation really happens. You must buy tickets in advance !
This is an incredible place for all the lovers of Studio Ghibli's work! I got completely lost while exploring the museum . What brought me back was the closing bell....
Adorable and beautiful museum ! Aimed at children and Japanese speakers, but all fans of the studio will enjoy it. I feel like I learned a lot about the process behind the films .
Visit here in Japan, like visiting Disney Land in America. Awesome place for those who love Japanese animation industry. Sort of classic.
The actual exhibit space isn't as big as the huge building would suggest but nonetheless this is a must see for any Ghibli fan. Great to see all the sketches and models!
nice and cool place. definitely good to visit if you know bout the animations. it is like travel to another time and space inside. sadly no pic allowed inside.
Make sure you go up to the roof and see the robot and the food is great in the Straw Hat Cafe !
Make sure to book your tickets plenty of time in advance. They do not sell tickets at the door plus they have a limited amount of daily tickets for international distribution.
The museum was an amazing experience. Every nook and corner had something interesting. Get in early to avoid crowds
A must visit for all Ghibli fans! Pay attention to detail and you won’t be dissapointed...!!
Electronic confirmation is acceptable even if you forgot the paper version as long as you have your passport (for online & non-Japanese folks).
Had lots of fun and lots to explore. From the roof top to the cafe . Take a photo with the giant robot.
Beautiful little museum that's obligatory for anyone that likes animation - even just a little bit.
Definitely need to reserve tickets in advance . Do at any Lawson convenience stores - the sales attendants will be willing to help you out.
Great fun, no pictures inside though. Best with kids but even regular adults will enjoy. Beautiful location.
Such a cute building! It's a dream come true! Only if there were more exhibition of more Miyazaki's work, it'd have been perfect!

The museum is just like the Ghibli movies . Cosy and genuine with a magical atmosphere.

You must buy tix far in advance, but absolutely worth it.
Take the train to Mitaka, take the south exit and you can easily walk there or take the Ghibli Bus for ¥300 roundtrip right outside Mitaka Station .
Excellent for any animation fan. Ghibli is a must see. First floor is powerful.Lacks english signs.
I didn't realize so many of the exhibits would be about the animation process ! Far more interesting for adults than I expected.
Definitely worth the money and trek to Mitaka. The city bus from Mitaka station stops at stop #9 and costs 200 per adult one-way
A great place for fans, especially with children. The Cafe is cute but has a long line during peak times.
They show different short movies and make small updates to the exhibition so it's worth coming the second time!
For those in US, you can get tickets in JTA office and it's not time based as the one from Lawson ticket machine. Also no picture inside
A must go if you're a Ghibli or Hayao fan. There are small items or painting that will remind you of his creations at every corner :)
Be early if you're planning to have lunch there to avoid the long queue which could take up to an hour. Otherwise, takeaway counter is quick, with a simple menu.
A must-see for Ghibli fans. There's even a giant Catbus for kids to play in! Ahhhh!
Such a wonderful and fun museum to visit. A must see for those who love Ghibli films !
