Ayam goreng rempah is a nice shift from the usual fried chicken we get at hawker centres & bar snacks . Marinated in a Nyonya recipe blend of non-heaty spices, each fried piece was yummy????????
Cheap tasty home cooked Peranakan cuisine - must try their Babi n Sambal stuffs !! Soo yummy !! End off with homemade bobochacha .. = Happy endings !
This place is simply awesome. Very inexpensive and fantastic food. Both the honey pork and sweet pepper pork are great. Maybe my vote for best value in all of SG. Service is...well ...just eat.
Honey pork strips is our family’s perennial fave. Coated with a sweet black sauce recipe, it suitable for young ones not ready for spicy fare ????????
Daun keledek lemak (sweet potato leaves cooked in spiced coconut milk ). Aromatic & creamy, the dish offers an alternative flavour to all the rempahs
Petai sambal (aka petir sambal ) is as close u get to a Nyonya’a kitchen. It’s an acquired taste but boy, so aromatic and crunchy as a sambal feature!
Finally! Their dishes have always been small. Good that they’re giving an indication of how many ‘small’ plates to order based on group size????
Updated order sizes & suggested portions, based on group sizes. Some of the dishes come in small & medium portions
Terung goreng assam. Have u ever had brinjal coated in tamarind sauce & fried? Moist, sweet-sour flavour
Itik sio. Duck stew in tamarind gravy . Yummy with rice . Gravy packs a slight peppery heat
Fried pomfret: Simple pleasure. Deep-fried black pomfret (@ mkt prices), then drizzled w thick black soy sauce , chopped onions & chilli sections. I can eat this alone w white rice . Slurp!
Fish dishes : Unique flavours come fr Ikan Masak Assam Pedas (spicy-sour tamarind sauce ) & Ikan Kuah Nenas (tangy lemongrass-y tastes). Nice!
My first time having peranakan dishes! Taste interesting XD worth trying
Chap chye (stewed cabbage & other veges ). Now available for upsize. Another standard order here ????
Ayam buah keluak : U can't go wrong w d Nonya classic served here. Thick spicy sauce 2 go w ur rice . Warning: limited number of buah keluak nuts ;-)
Good a cheap Peranakan fare. Not the best in Singapore but good enough. Good value for money ($6.50 lunch set) and good kueh
Food is so-so and service quite slow but worth the cheap price. Difficult to find parking - make sure u don't park along continuous white lines if u dun want to risk a ticket!
Always great, economical Nonya food. Great dinner - the Papaya titek dish is back to old good standard.
Daun keledek lemak: Interesting if u wanna try a different vege dish. Sweet potato leaves in coconut milk gravy . Lovely combo - haha!
Honey pork . Kids luv this so much we usually hv 2 order 2nd helpings. Coated w egg during preparation, in case u hv egg allergies.
Udang (prawn ) & sotong (squid ) dishes: All styles r nice. Fr sambal 2 black sauce , assam (tamarind ) 2 chilli . Yum!
Ever dependable peranakan food from a local institution. Babi ponteh and ayam buah kelua are must-orders.
Hor Pow ($6.40 for 4pcs). Unimpressed with these fried beancurd with minced pork stuffings. Tasted dry and the chilli dip did not save them either
Awesome place for traditional Singaporean food
Babi pongteh (pork stew ): My childhood fave when I visit my Grandma in Penang. D flavour here is more salty. Better than nothing :-)
Terong chilli & sambal lady fingers. Simple, healthy yet tasty vege dishes. Standard orders for my visits
Food here is awesome but in very small portion. Table of 4 ppl can order at least 8 dishes. Their dessert is awesome too!
Assam pork rib : Spicy kick , w nice touch of d sour tamarind sauce . A new fave
Honey pork & Sotong hitam are good! Gula Melaka Sago is a yummy dessert to end off your meal.
Desserts are decent. From what I see there's only 3 staff serving almost 30 tables. Maybe that's why they can sell so cheaply.
Cendol . Missing the Gula Melaka aroma
Great peranakan food thou portions a lil small. Black Squid n redang hav always been my favs.. The long queues are always common! Closed on thurs..
Order the curry dishes and ends with a cendol .
Good healthy tasty food. Sour faced staff , like you owe them a living.
Papaya titek is a must try. Been eating here since young and always eat it when I come here!! Must try!!
Good food and friendly service , reasonable price.
The ayam buah keluak is quite good
Cheap and quality peranakan food . Parking is really challenging tho.
Recommend Ayam goreng rempah, babi ponteh, honey pork , curry fish head , sotong hitam , Itek Tim, bakwan kepeting
Food is cheap n good here
Best place to have local peranakan food !
Try the sati babi and the rendang !
Standards dropping. Sigh. Desserts are still as yummy!
Nice food, great value at affordable prices . Must order the curry fish head ! Good for sharing 4-5 pax.
Love their bakwan kepeting . Simple yet tasty
Portions on a crowded evening are extremely PATHETIC. Almost equivalent to the portions we get in cai fan
Ivin's is kinda bad now. The waiters ' attitude and attentiveness irks me. And the food portion is smaller compared to last time. They served most of the food to a table who came later than us.
Must try the sweet/honey pork ! Really damn nice and cheap !
Average desserts . Nothing to shout about. Stick to the food.
Bakwan kepeting is so nice. The soup is flavorful!
Good food with reasonable price. Love their porridge! - Kelley Lau
Delicious Jiang Nan style dim sum and food. Yums. - Joey Lim
The ambience combi of cafe n ice cream with creative deco, a great chill place :) - Joean勤
Beef Noodles @ Liu San Taiwanese Cafe is slurpily tasty with right amount of spicyness al dente noodles. $6.80 - Misharebel Yee
The prawn noodle was very good! We also had the satay and the oyster fried egg - Calvin Lei
