Nikko Toshogu Shrine is a shrine Nikkō located in Japan.
山内2301 Nikkō , Tochigi 321-1431 Japan
Absolutely amazing. Indispensable stop in the travel. You need almost two or tree days to see everything. But with only one is enough to see almost one or two of the most impressive sanctuaries.
Absolutely lovely shrine , worth a visit! Wear slip-on shoes as you take them off a lot. The 200 steps to the inner shrine is pretty hard going and not stunning, if you have bad knees give it a miss.
Amazing architecture . Though the main shrine is under renovation until 2019, you can still get to see the inside of it. Just be prepared to take off your shoes !
Glad we made it here cos no shrines or temples we've seen in Tokyo even come close 2this.So deserving of its UNESCO heritage status!D heavily-forested site covers a wide area so 1 day is needed 2c all
What makes Toshogu so unique is its architecture - not Shinto or Buddhist but combination of both. It's also sumptuously decorated in gold, unlike other Japanese shrines & temples which r much simpler.
This place is rightfully a treasure. Beautiful. Find the original "hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" monkeys, but look at the other monkey panels. They tell the monkey's life journey!
super gorgeous. i went nov 6 and the leaves were beautiful, there were plenty of tourists at that time, and it got busier through the month. watch the autumn leaf forecasts online to plan your visit.
If I had to choose between the shrines , I would pick this and Takio-Jinja. The scale is just huge. Downside - there at"re many people here!
This is not a shrine to be missed! Make sure you visit if you're in the area.
An amazing shrine to see in person while learning so much about the history. Be prepared to walk up and down a lot of stairs.
This was one of my favorite shrines to visit in Japan. The walks around the area are very scenic and peaceful .
Yomeimon, one of the most beautiful gates in Japan, is under restoration from 2013 to 2017 so you won't be able to see it during this time.
Don't miss the "crying dragon". Watch the full demonstration and hear the dragon roar! It's at the end before the exit.
Amazing architecture and fine art of Japanese greatest shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu tombstone
Suica/Pasmo accepted.
Bring socks if you planing to get inside the temple .
This Shinto Shrine is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu , the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate , built in 1617. UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amazing place you can't be missed.
So many people around, difficult to enjoy this place...
Pie and Mom sit on the right side.
Last entry at 3pm. Disappointing.

Todo, muy Lindoy tranquilo .
