Lake Johnson

Go to a quite spot along the trail . If you sit by the edge of the water long enough you'll see fish jumping and hear frogs singing. On sunny days you' ll see lots of turtles .

The hills here are killer! Talk about conditioning your legs! A great 3.25 mile run/walk with a couple good scenic overlooks! Parking is a pain on crowded beautiful days.

This is a great outdoor area to go for a nice run, bike ride , walk...or even take the kids/dog for some exercise. Very popular, paved and unpaved trails , flat and hills . Fishing , boating too! Read more

I miss living there in the apartments . It is a wonderful place to live on the lake .

If you missed the DO NOT SWIM signs, trust me. Don't swim in the lake ! I had just moved here and got kiiilller strep throat after swimming in the lake . Such a bad idea. :(

Best recreational park in all of Raleigh. Hike the unpaved side. It's beautiful!

Don't walk down Avent Ferry while the bridge is out!! Take the long loop!!

One of my favorite places in Raleigh. There are two parking lots . The one away from the boat house is usually less crowded
