Bronx River (btwn Westchster & Bruckner) Bronx , NY 10459 United States
Come see how nature has been taking over at this repurposed concrete plant! The recently opened park includes connections to local bike paths and a launching point for canoes or kayaks .
If you are interested in helping out at the park in anyway email me your info and what you would like to do at andrerivera801@hotmail.com and name it Concrete Plant Park
The Bronx has a way of taking disparities and turning them into an attraction . You could attribute the odd shapes to the fact that it used to actually be a concrete plant. Creative things on the way!
Concrete Plant Park was home to a concrete batch-mix plant from 1945 to 1987. The silos, hoppers and conveyor structures here are a remnant of the park 's industrial past.
Somehow the tips here made me think this place is much bigger than it actually was. It's a nice place, but not really worth it if you're not already in the neighborhood .
2013 Will be a very active year for the park , check out Bronxriver.org for further info on how you can get involved also look for me I am always there.
