MIT Stata Center (Building 32)

Whimsical, controversial Gehry design at its best, the Stata Center is a mixed-use space MIT building that must be seen to be believed.

On April 30, during the open house, view cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, autonomous robots, LEGO robots, and much more.

Building designed by Frank Gehry . Home of CSAIL , be aware of room numbers this is actually a complex so pay attention to the “tower” you are heading to.

Yeah, it leaks all the time, it has no second floor, and passing motorists frequently stop their cars in the middle of Vassar to get out and take pictures of it. Stata is still unbelievably cool.

An architectural marvel!

If you try to find CSAIL you might get trapped in the labyrinth and never be seen again.

By Frank Gehry , the building was supposed to mimic the Infinite Corridor, providing a "student street" on the ground floor.

Look up outside and in. Inside you'll see a number of tributes to famous hacks.

Visit the food court inside Stata Center!

Keep your eyes straight ahead at all times. If you spot someone you recognize but may not know the name of, look away and avoid eye contact. Pretend you don't know them and they will go away.

Work your way down into the basement and explore the tunnels . Find the emergency science store. Play the spot Richard Stallman game. Live a happy vampiric sun-free life.

Try and get into the "crazy-eyes" room. It's on the same level as the dining room. Don't get nauseous.

Stand outside the Stata Center at dusk or even after dark and see gorgeous architecture views .
